It's more than that. We have a responsibility to treat other living creatures with decency and kindness. Pasture raised eggs are healthier for us and they taste better but as important is the fact that the chickens live a better life. It's a win-win. Happy, healthy chickens make better eggs. The idea that monetary profit is the only value, that extracting every last penny is the most important thing regardless of the harm done to the chickens (and all the other animals) and to our health is ridiculous. It's difficult to understand how anyone ever thought that would be the right way forward.
