The geneticist and atheist, Richard Dawkins, wrote a book called "Nice Guys Finish First" in which he explained this misconception. He said that Social Darwinism was incorrect about Darwin, and that humans evolved to have a social sense of responsibility, that this was why we survived and took over the planet.

And as everyone knows, private schools outperform because they only have to accept the most choice students, who are mostly pre-educated at home, as every study of child education has proven. As for Texas, the place is practically uninhabited except for cities occupied by techno-industries. I'm sure that the kids who fail in Texas are encouraged to drop-out. In California we try to keep them.

  16. If we could GET single-payer universal health care, fine. Obamacare is a stop-gap until the republican party dies its inevitable horrible death and the US becomes civilized. Europe has universal and spends little over half we do on health care. Of course that means controlling physician wages, and prescription prices, which would give doctors nowhere to run anymore, for now, they run here hoping to get rich before America finally grows up and goes for universal government-run health care.
