Axial flux motors were first made in the 80's by Cedric Lynch in the UK and featured in his famous cobbled together electric enclosed motorbike that did 60mph and a 200 mile range across England using the first Chinese LiFePO4 batteries. They've now been adapted for ultralight sport aircraft and electric sports cars. Saietta UK and Cedric's Agni motors in India are making them, and numerous other companies!
