I raised pigs in Missouri. You can raise them on any kind of land, uphill and down. These farmers just want everything easy the way they've been doing it. Wellll Sooorrrry!! If they want more money, then work better. Pigs take nothing to raise but feed costs and water and scrap shelters and a tractor to shovel their shit. Saying you can't be allowed to overcrowd them simply reduces their vet bills and antibiotic cost.

If someone gouges you target them for law enforcement attention and fix prices to warn them off that tack. The Europeans have used restriction-targeted capitalism for a long time, it works. They TELL producers what to do. AND what they can charge. And by god they do it. Europe long ago got tired of boom-n-bust capitalism, now they regulate it.

Like PG&E in CA. A majority of gas water and power companies in the US have had to be taken over by the people for their greedy incompetence, they are now public service companies, owned by the People, They are PSC's or rural coops. Government works better than profit-driven greed. And prices are lower too!
