  1. David: I'm a physicist. I was once recruited to run a reactor. I turned it down because I saw that it was NOT the future. Modern reactors aren't dangerous. That is NOT and should NOT be our objection. But nuclear HAS ALWAYS and continues to cost 4-5 TIMES MORE than the exact SAME number of kiloWatts made by wind and solar. This routes money to the rich, more than anything, because only the rich can afford to build them, and overcharges the American public for energy. With the same money we could have 4-5 TIMES the electrical power from wind and solar. Also, building and outfitting the number of reactors the US needs, AND educating the people to run them would take 40 YEARS, well after the most likely climate change tipping points. But we have solar and wind TODAY, NOW, and if we begin building enough of it, converting car industries and heavy manufacturing to that, we DO have a chance to save the planet and our civilization. Please don't just blithely accept what promoters claim about nuclear without exploring these facts.
