  2. Just make shingles out of your bark that is turned the wrong way and not overlapped like proper shakes.

  3. Unbelievable, you put the roof bark on the wrong way!! You need to overlap them horizontally starting at the bottom and put the ones above overlapping the lower ones, your vertical "batton and board' notion will leak like a sieve. Better to have used shakes anyway.
