Favorited this video. This is amazing. I always had these thoughts in my head [why do common law colonies fare better than those with civil law?] There's so much suffering in Africa, and everything has been tried, communism, theocracy, military dictatorships, but not freedom and free markets. If Africa be more free and prosperous, there'd be far less suffering in the world. There's so many people there, especially young people that have tons of potential.

@gaia7240 It's called a brain drain. Bad conditions having their elites leave. But it empties out the best people from the country. The receiving country benefits from already trained workers. The country losing them loses a lot of capital/skills. But that's the governments fault, but society suffers.

@gaia7240 Yep! In Canada, we lose our best and brightest to the USA, salaries too low, cost of living too high, and really cold. I guess Italians just go West to UK/Germany/France/USA?

@gaia7240 Wow, gotta be desperate for Argentina or Brazil...but it's because it's linguistically easy and easier to thrive in relative terms?
