  1. It strikes me that the central issue with models of the universe is the two ideas of infinite universe and the big bang theory. If the universe is infinite, but the big bang theory is true, how could an infinite universe emerge from a point origin as postulated by the big bang? And yet we have positive proofs for both. There is evidence of the big bang, and just as well there is evidence that the universe extends beyond the observable universe, meaning that we can never get positive proof for exactly how big the universe actually is.
