  1. I notice that since the 1960's, we have seen the rise of economists and historians with a leftist agenda, like Paul Krugman, who want to counter capitalisim. Slavery was not new with the Americas, serfs existed in many cultures and was the dominant system in the middle ages, and the serfs were all races, and usually the same race as their masters. Capitalisim largely eliminated that.
