  1. I worked on CCTV masts for a while. I was replacing a CCTV installation inside a large aircraft hangar, about 3 stories up, and I realized I had placed the lift, an extensible ladder, about 3 feet off center, which was apparent only after climbing up it. I went ahead and proceeded to unscrew the mount on the very heavy camera, leaning out to capture it. I realized, too late, that I had misjudged the length of the mounting screw and the camera was coming down before I was ready. I made a decision in that moment, and stood back and let the camera fall rather than try to catch it. I returned to the CCTV company, placed the broken camera on the bench and walked out of that job then and there. My life was worth more than that messed up job.
