  1. In my experience, both the slacker and the "super programmer" are myths. The super programmers I have run into, legends in their companies, write code that is unreadable and unmaintainable. Its a consequence of management that holds speed of coding above anything else. The only real "slackers" I have run into are people who don't really want to be programmers and are working their way into management.
