  1. Not completely accurate. Yellow was also produced, so it wasn't just red and green. Also to be mentioned: It wasn't just lighting. The blue LED enabled high definition optical disks and made HDTV DVDs possible. This was due to the shorter wavelength of blue light. It enabled finer pitch tracks in the DVD.
