  1. Communism fell, but dictatorships are alive, well and growing. Welcome to the third world era, counting Kingdoms, communism, and now dictatorships. When I was young, people used to say that democracies never voted themselves out of existence, with the sole exception of Germany. Now lots of democracies have voted themselves out of existance. And the trend appears to be growing.

  2.  @doujinflip  Its because the greatest power in the universe is laziness. Promise people the government will take money from others and given it to them and they will vote anyone into office. That worked great in Venezuela, transforming one of the richest countries in South America into a country that eats their pets. It's working now in the USA, where a truly astonishing number of young people who flunked history now think socialism is cool. In 50 years the USA will be France, and who knows after that.
