Not bad for a technology named for a Norse king with poor dental hygiene!

To me the most interesting part is the history of this, unmention in the video. First, the existance of bluetoon (and wifi) in the microwave spectrum was no accident. The federal government allocated the microwave band as a sort of "toxic wasteland" that microwave ovens could use and not interfere with other electronics. They considered the frequencies there to be unusable, and so when digital communications were able to operate in the band, it was like "go for it". And indeed, spread spectrum was able to use the band without issue. Second, spread spectrum was invented by Hedy Lamarr, a beautiful young actress who dabbled in technology in her spare time. The original idea was to use a player piano to do the frequency hopping, and the purpose of it was originally to send secret messages over radio during WWII.
