  1. Don't skip the cam operated machines, that is the intermediate machine between manual and NC/CNC machines. I had a friend who bought up several of the cam operated machines, virtually for free because they were being discarded as obsolete. He lined them up in his shop then used a CNC machine to make cams for them and then put them into production.
