Short but brutally honest history of religion: The Jewish faith came up with the idea that there could only be one god. This idea was quite attractive, but the jews also believed that their religion could only be entered by birthright, and discouraged intermarriage between faiths (as many religions did). The result of the envy was several religions that were blatant copies of Judaism, including both Christianity and Islam. So why would Islamists hate a religion they largely agreed with? The sunnis and shias are simply two different branches of the relatives of Mohammed. Now they are trying to kill each other all over the middle east. And that is two sects of the same religion. Another uncomfortable fact. America is Israel's friend and protector right? During WWII America turned back a ship with newish refugees, the St. Louis, and Roosevelt was documented to be against Jewish immigration to the USA. The USA pushed the formation of Israel in part because they didn't want the jews fleeing the holocaust to end up in America.
