Languages that have new versions incompatible with past versions say to me that the designers can't plan for the future and don't value the past.

@BrodieRobertson Yea, I get that, and (rant on), this just seems to be the trend right now. GTK3 to GTK4 is rip up and retry, and I believe GTK2-3 was similar. There is lack of respect for existing users going around. What did Linus say? Change the user API and I'll break your arm? I went through the Python 2-3 thing at Apple, and it was just tremendously annoying. In fact, they have so much python code in their support code that I suspect it will be years before they get it either fixed or give up on sections of the code.
