  1. The USA is sleeping here. The first step besides arming Taiwan, which we are already doing, is to ship them rifles, yes, those nasty black rifles like the AR-15. Taiwan needs to arm and train all of its citizens and have then take the rifle home. This would make it clear to China that they would face a multi-year insurgency even if they take over Taiwan. Second, we need to wake Japan up and get them to break out of being pacifists. An armed and militant Japan would be China's biggest nightmare.
