  1. Good research on this, but you left out a critical player: Germany and more specifically ASML company. The flow now is TSMC provides chips, USA provides designs and software, but ASML provides the machines that make the highest technology chips. So China now wants what ASML has, but the USA stopped ASML from providing it. So China invades Taiwan and takes their ASML machines right? No, the problem with that is the machines take incredible tech support. ASML simply stopping servicing the machines would bring them to a halt. A modern way of thinking of it would be as if ASML made moon rockets and shipped them to Taiwan. The machines are huge and extremely high tech, so much so that other companies (and countries) have yet to copy them.
