Solutions to the issues:
1. (public charging) Get a Tesla.
2. (different ranges due to conditions) True, but charging fixes that. Just drive, forget about it, and charge as needed. Just like a gas car 🙂
3. (range degradation) On my 6 year old Tesla M3, it does lose a bit of range, but seems to level off after a year or so. I used to get to about 330miles on %100, now down to 300.
4. (Tire wear) True, the car eats tires.
5. (repair costs) No, not even close to true. EVs are significantly less trouble than gas cars. In 6 years, it has needed only one maintenance item, service on the suspension. Notably the brakes are hardly worn, because of dynamic braking.
6. (resale value) I don't think so. The lowest price on my 2018 M3 as used is $25,000, which holds up against gas car values.
