  1. "Tesla faces competition from the big car companies" Really? Where? So far the "competition" is low range overpriced cars (compared to gas cars). The closest competition is the Bolt from GM, with yawn worthy styling and no effort AT ALL to try to meet Tesla's fast charging infrastructure. When the M3 comes out, it is a sexy car with cool factor and access to the Tesla Charging network. Its biggest competition is... hot air. Lots of promises. By the end of this year and into next, GM and Ford are going to be watching their sales slide even further while Tesla sells every car it can make. Then we get another round from them both about how "nobody could have seen this coming", and perhaps another government bailout.

  2. Umm, if the manufacturer discontinues the parts for a machine in 5 years, then they have just told you how long they expect that appliance to last. 5 years.
