  1. I used GE circle lamps long before CFLs came around. The real problem is that the lamps were hard to find when they (inevitably) went bad. Plus we had lots of 4' fixtures built into the ceilings at my house. Now that is all LED, including the 8' lamps in the garage. Kindof a shame, since the new high frequency ballasts were way betterer, but now I have like 6 8' lamps in the garage and they are dead quiet, vs the buzzing noises of the old lamps.
