ChantYip - Most of the twenty or so comments here are from woefully under educated people. "Where is she going to get money for free college education?" The same place the money came from for the bloated military budget. The same place the 3.5 trillion dollars in tax cuts came from that added 1.5 trillion to the deficit. People seem to think that taxes pay for what the government provides and all government expenditures. WRONG! All money originates from the sole manufacturer of U.S. currency, the government itself. You cannot pay taxes until the government issues the money, and the government can NEVER run out of money. In Congress appropriations come first, then the money is doled out. When tax revenues are used up, treasury bills are sold to cover the remainder. When are you stupid people going to get it through your thick heads that U.S. government debt and deficits are a necessary part of the economy, without which our economy will collapse? We can easily have fully paid college for every citizen, fully paid health care for every citizen and 100% of us can have decent housing without causing the economy to overheat or having the government go broke . . . BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT CAN NEVER GO BROKE! Geeze people, read the Constitution will ya!

Des Gonzaga - You are not paying attention. The USA cannot ever run out of money. Greece , Portugal, Spain, Italy . . . those countries are part of the EU and cannot manufacture their own currency . . . that is not a problem the USA faces. When those countries gave up their sovereign currencies, they sealed their own fate. The facts on the ground in Venezuela are not what the corporate media would have you believe, you should look into that for yourself. The economic theory you are putting forward pretends that we are still on the gold standard, we are not. There is no shortage of government money, that is a myth. The propaganda version of socialism is supposedly unsustainable, yet democratic socialist countries are flourishing and their people the happiest in the world. You have bought into the propaganda the oligarchs want you to believe. Do some research and break your shackles man . . . or continue being a tool. That is your choice.

@bobroberts2371 - You are being ridiculous. Police are out of control. At the very least the police should adhere to the doctrine of "do not fire unless fired upon". The very profession is all about putting one's life on the line to "protect and serve", not to be executioners.

@pwd1134 - Clear as mud, both you and those officers need to learn some physics. The officers started firing only three seconds after they exited their vehicle. There was no time for clearly understood communication. Furthermore, the man in the truck could not possibly have brought a shotgun to bear upon the officers without clearing the door or the windshield to be in a firing position. The only plan of action demonstrated by these officers was that of an execution squad.

Chaos brought on by greed and the acceptance by the population that unlimited wealth is a normal condition. Humanity needs a really hard blow to the brain, in order to understand that what we accept as normal, is not a survivable condition. No natural or artificial system is capable of unlimited growth. If we are to survive as a species, then we must change the conditions, change the game. The current game is a race to oblivion.
