@rosecady6821 yes, they named Dominion in so therefore Dominion can sue and fox paid and amounts to settle because there's always a percentage chance you can lose in court. It was kind of dumb to name dominion and open yourself up to a lawsuit but at the same time, it's not like it's a big deal. 787 million dollars for Fox isn't that much money. If I'm doing a valuation of Fox's business.... doesn't even matter, it was an apparently priced into the stock in the stock went up. But everytime I do these models in a zero out two years of income for some idiocy like this happening it barely ever affect my valuation so that's why shareholders do not care. We would rather pay a fixed known dollar amount that won't hurt our valuation than risk a massive payout like 2.7 billion. 787M is something we can stomach no problem.

@davidwong5197 is it possible with 100% certainty to take anything regarding computers.... Dude, even solar flares or whatever, even with their extreme rarity, cause computer issues. It doesn't even have to be a hack, it can literally just be that something went wrong. Computers aren't a hundred percent accurate even they make mistakes. If you overclock a computer and ask it to compute something it is more likely to make errors. Even without overclocking if you repeat a task enough times, it can glitch and not compute the correct answer.

Half a years cash to make a lawsuit disappear.... If you wouldn't pay that every time, you're crazy....

Tucker interview on redacted, he shows he lived up to what he said then. Tucker said that after Iraq he was not going to tow company line and he was going to ask questions. I used to not understand why Tucker was so liked but now I get it

Well my problem with what Jon Stewart said is that it's a settlement so therefore Fox didn't admit guilt. I'll pay you a lot of money just to not appear in court dude. Eight hundred million dollars for Fox is not that bad it's at most a 3% hit to your valuation model. Given that fox stock is only sixteen billion dollars and they make 1.5 billion dollars a year easily, I can lose 800 million dollars for one year. Imma be right back tomorrow....

13:30 this was the MOST INSANE THING. Trump said take the Vax, EVERYONE FREAKED OUT. the second Biden was elected, they all were pro Vax... Just wild. How broken in the head....

The reason Fox had to pay out is it because Fox was right or wrong. If Fox was 100% guilty then why would Dominion only accept 787 million when they were suing for 2.7 billion? The reason Fox paid a percentage of the amount is because both parties knew it was a toss-up in court. Fox paid 30% of what Dominion asked for because there was a 30% chance they could lose the case in court. Basic math. This is a civil court, it's all about money there was never anyone going to jail about this....

It wasn't won. It was settled, with no admission of guilt... if either party had a foolproof case they would have taken it to court they settled out of court because they both know they don't have full proof cases and therefore they want certainty. Fox paid 800/2700 asked for because they both agreed, there was a 30% chance dominion would get the full 2.7B. It's basic math. The MEDIA framed it as fox being wrong and having to pay. That's idiotic. It's a toss-up and us you always pay. Just like if I arrested you right now in charge you for murder even if you didn't do it you would still pay a fee if it meant that you could avoid the whole trial and risk of losing way more. Same concept. 800M doesn't change anything for us investors so we would much rather pay it however 2.7 billion actually does screw with the model. The numbers all make sense when you actually understand the game, this is just a business game. Nothing more nothing less. Don't read into it as admissions of guilt...

787 M settlement doesn't mean what people think it means. Fox thinks they win and pay zero. Dominion thinks they win and pay 2.7B. The payment is based on the probability either side wins... So since fox pays zero if they win, it simplified the math. 787/2700 is the probability chance dominion wins. 30%. And that's why they got 30% of what they asked for. Fox felt there was a 30% chance that they would get the 2.7 billion and paid them out that amount. This is all basic math, it doesn't mean either party was right or wrong.
