@armanillo4695 because this is the sentiment around the business community and they are looking at average statistics which makes it look like people have more money than they do when in reality it's the top earners who saved the most. They also just hate government handouts so they demonized the people who get them even though unemployment insurance is insurance that you pay for out of your own paycheck. The general "consensus" is that Americans saved 2.4Trillion dollars, which works out to a tidy sum for each person. Of course, that's not reality, but egg head nerds never were good at reality. That's why I love the stock market. Playing with these people who don't understand how the world works makes the game very easy.

Remember, the people who do these statistics don't know people that are "poor", no offense. They live in communities $1000000 homeowners and don't know anyone outside of the tax bracket. Ask me how I know....
