  2. To be fair, it technically is 2 quarters + confirmation, but we just use 2 quarters since we don't need no one else's freaking confirmation. Either way, this is backwards looking data... This isn't meant to call recessions real time. It's just for the nerds. Hence why we just use 2 quarters. But if you look at all factors, you can call it one or not, just like we called the pandemic a "recession" but imo, that was a blip, and I wouldn't have called that one. I wouldn't call 2020 or this recessions. These are mild downturns.
