  3. This is actually better explained by Polymatters most recent video. People are going for status jobs. Making money isn't enough in this world, you also have to have status. Speaking from the black community, blue collar work, 150k salary, would be the equivalent of college degree, white collar work, at 70k. People value white collar work so much, they would rather date poorer white collar workers over blue collar, no matter the wealth.
