It's wild, because it's short term as hell. If this can be done to Elon, then how easy will it be for employers to do it? In fact, isn't it more reasonable to think Elon is a scape goat to create a precedent to use against workers later? People aren't smart.

How wealthy he is has nothing to do with the contract signed. Just say "im jealous". Otherwise, if you agree to pay a rich man, more money, that's the agreement.

The thing you're not understanding is, the current ideology is, rich people cheated, no matter what, to get rich. Therefore, you can cheat them back. And contractors get a bad wrap by this class of people as they're seen as ripping them off on home repairs, and for some reason they're sometimes viewed as the rich, but also looked down on, so screwing them over is OK, because they screw people over. I've worked construction, as an accountant, but at a small place where I was actually out on job sites regularly. Home owners have a huge hidden disdain for contractors. I kind of understand it, sometimes it seems like everyone is standing around and nothing is getting done, but you're sometimes just waiting on one last thing you absolutely need, and it just makes things take long. Sometimes, I will admit though ... It's boys being boys.... Lol. But when you take into account everything that's done actually, there's not some insane profit.

Look at the financial backers of Twitter outside of Elon musk... Look how much money they have.... This isn't a bank, where if you don't pay the loan back the bank freaks out. This is a different kind of arrangement. The backers have an insane amount of money. They don't care about getting money back today. Elon has all the time in the world. He has 8-10 years. Even if he never paid back a dollar. Lol. You just don't get it. It's not your world. Your world, a billion dollars is a lot of money. We printed a ton of money... It has to go somewhere... People are dying to put that money somewhere, they don't care where.

OK you create an ev company from scratch that's profitable. No one else in the world is doing it.... But he's doing it, and selling an idiotic vehicle, and he's still profitable.... Lol. You're happy it's happening to a billionaire you don't like, but did you ever consider, that's why they chose him first? Next, it will be taking away pay from executives, and you'll cheer that. Finally, it will be you the worker, where the law was always intended to hit. And they will retroactively take back your pay. You're short sighted.

No, Elon has always made bold moves. For some reason, people hate layoffs. Maybe you sympathize with the workers. This is business. Cutting workers is necessary. You over hire often. It's obvious so many of you have never been upper management. Drastic changes sometimes are needed. Elon has always made the tough drastic decisions. Other companies don't. If Ford, GM, etc. Did it, they would be profitable with evs.

The things you mention that aren't being done, aren't priorities because they aren't profit centers. You need to distinguish between things Elon says, and company priorities. It's like this is the first company you've ever followed closely. Every company doesn't deliver on TONS of promises. Take Intel. Intel does the same thing. But because you don't follow the company, or tons of different companies, you don't realize how common this is. You talk about aspirations, but you always focus on core profits. Disney talks about upcoming star wars projects they never deliver on for example lol. I can go on and on, because I actually follow companies closely, and don't give a flying f what they say. I parse the words. No company is honest.

If you think Twitter is a massive issue for him, you know nothing about this industry at all. It's an industry that gave me 10m to work with when I'd never filed taxes. You don't understand how money flows here. Hell, I didn't until I worked on the other side. They gave me the money, and I didn't burn it.
