This is actually a progressive programming he doesn't even realize he's taken. The one man many woman thing did happen in history, but only for the top 0.01% of men. Which I suspect he thinks he is, and even then, there were other circumstances explaining the relationship other than just "new women" since many times it was many women, but not new women. The reality is humans have always done better with close bonds, and this movement was actually just a way to destroy the nuclear family, by making men chase new women during prime settling down and mating years.
