  1. That's not how this works, if you had five more of these built by globalfoundries and you can be assured you'll have to do a bailout later. Globalfoundries is a trash chipmaker. I'm sure though that they will work this situation to get as much subsidies as possible though just like we are doing in America

  2.  @qrcline  yep exactly, so they've caused all this drama and now people believe that the solution will be to build at home. There is a reason that people want to use tsmc. Building a bunch of second-rate chip production is not going to work. I'm sure you could say just build first-rate chip production but that's what everyone wants to do and they always come up far behind tsmc. Apple learn the hard way trying to dual source with tsmc and someone else like globalfoundries. Globalfoundries chips could not keep up with the tsmc chips causing Apple to have to slow down all of their chips to match the slower globalfoundries chips. It is allowing chip production at home to get huge subsidies which I bet on in the stock market for a pretty penny.

  3. Is a lot more nuanced to this, for example this is talking specifically about globalfoundries who I would never buy a chip from no matter what. Their track record on chip production is trash and the company literally almost bankrupted AMD. There is a huge difference between having chip production and having chip production you actually want to use
