  1. If Apple dropped 10%+ the whole stock market would crater with it. When big tech makes up a huge percentage of the market, you don't want to risk tanking the stock market and scaring America. Easy cheat code.

  2. This is also part of the reason why companies go public and don't stay private forever. Once you have a ton of public shareholders then you can go, "oh but you'll hurt all the shareholders and people's retirement funds".

The reason I invest in Apple is half the country uses iPhones, the likelihood that a senator would regulate the phone that they are currently using to make it harder to use is zero in my opinion. Old people already struggle to use their phone, and they're not going to make it harder. If you have to lobby for Apple all you have to do is ask an old person if they want their phone to be harder to use, good game
