@bonbonpony it doesn't matter dude. It's our FREE RIGHT to decide whether we want to or not. McDonald's can't tell you it's too dangerous to cook at home so you need to go to their place to get a hamburger. If you want to be an idiot, open up a device and completely screw with it, that's your choice. If you want to repair or modify your gun, it's your choice. But now, a phone, and people are worried about whether a person has enough skill to repair? Who cares this is a free country. You can do it if you want. The fact people keep bringing up whether you're dumb or smart shows their marketing is working. It DOESN'T MATTER. WE CAN DO WHAT WE WANT WITH OUR OWN STUFF. if I decide to smash my TV, that's MY CHOICE.

@thomask70 doesn't matter if you did actually fix it or you failed. You have the RIGHT to try. That's the point. You have the RIGHT to try to cook your own dinner too. I have almost burned down my apartment complex which would effect 100 other people, yet no one is fighting to take our right to cook away (please don't tell me I gave McDonald's a new idea lol).

@FlippyisFloppy good things can come from either side. The fact people think that the other side is "evil and can do no good" just allows our enemies to win. Who benefits when Americans think "the other side is evil!" not Americans, China, Russia, any country competing with us wins when we fight amongst ourselves and can't see the good in each other. Half the messages you see online that claim to be left or right are foreign intelligence agents trying to get Americans to hate each other. And it's working. Talk to people in real life. Learn to love your fellow Americans. Stop interacting on the internet thinking it's real. Because any person can claim to be an American, be from a government or terrorist group that hates America and try to drive us apart.

@slendercode5252 people worry about their political ideology too much. It doesn't matter who the president is. If you like right to repair support it. In fact, if you are a hardcore Republican and you like right to repair, call your Republican legislator and have them support it. If you are a hardcore Democrat and you like right to repair, call your Democratic legislator and have them support it. Instead, we have people fighting along party lines for something they actually want.

Honestly I don't think you can get this done. Just look at how insane the comments are. The country is so polarized that simply one party bringing up right to repair makes it evil, and the other party will take the opposing side because working together on legislation is not good marketing/pr. So any idiotic reasoning against right to repair will now work on 35%-50% of the country. Even though trump supported right to repair and Biden did, making this a bipartisan agreement, people still will find a way to disagree along party lines. I wish you luck, but this is a hard fight to do.
