This is why I'm trying to move. The pandemic opened my eyes and gave me a lot of time to think about my living situation and I'm working way too many hours. The pay isn't worth the work. So I'm starting my own company instead where I can get the actual benefits of my work. It'll take me a few years until I can quit working entirely for someone else, but my health, life quality, etc. Was just low, and being stuck at home working all the time only made me realize that I need my own business and not rely on someone else.

Because that is the fed's job, the FED has two mandates. The job market, and inflation. Now you can argue whether their tools are effective for this and I would say that they are not really that effective for the job market. However, that is actually their job

@juliantheapostate8295 interesting, one of my largest issues with the FED is that when the economy gets into trouble they will lower interest rates to try and bring in workers. The theory is that businesses will borrow money at lower rates and invest that money in things that will require workers. Yet one of the things they will do, is say that they are going to keep interest rates low for an extended period of time. If I told you that I was going to do a sale at my store, but I was going to do that sale for three years, then you wouldn't feel like you have to buy anything from my sale anytime soon. Well, when the FED does the same thing with interest rate loans, if I know that I can get a low interest rate loan for the next three years, then I'm not going to risk doing a major business expansion during a crisis, I Will Wait towards the end of the crisis while interest rates are still low maybe and then do it.

I can save 10k moving to a low cost state, and because of the way taxes work, saving 10K is the equivalent of making an extra 20k in my area. It just doesn't make sense for me to live here anymore. I'm just deciding to move to a cheaper area, hopefully get paid more, and save all of my money and investkke crazy for the next 10 years until I'm financially free. People can't find workers because workers are reorganizing their lives.
