  1. Saw this happen, the lawyer is just a person to rile up both sides and extract as much money out of the process as possible. Took me awhile to get my parents to just stop the bullshit before they destroyed all the wealth they built. "hilariously", and his was a case of the man getting the money and my mother's lawyer just got her in a state of thinking "this is bullshit!" if she had just accepted the normal terms right away, it wouldn't have been bad, but I'm sure she burned over a half m on the idiocy. It was all emotional. There was never an acknowledgement of the law. That's how the lawyers extract as much money from you as they can.

  3. FYI, this doesn't have to do with gender. I doesn't matter which way it goes, if a woman has to pay the man instead, it actually goes worse. The lawyer can really make her feel like it's bullshit and draw the process out. After all, it's a rarer case, makes the mind game fuckery way easy.
