  1. That's how dark souls was for me. Picked up a huge 2 handed sword in the beginning and game was essentially easy mode. It really just depends on what weapons you use and how good you are. If I stuck to dual daggers, I'm sure it would have been very hard.

  2. Harder game allows them to get more hours of play time. Imo, probably actually a good idea
