  1. The crux is on labor rights and laws from wages, 40 hour work week then time and half, is all about providing negotiation power. Ensures a minim standard of work-life. Because individually with no such standards, we observe in many other countries that their work-life standards are terrible: more injuries at work, poverty wages, export driven economy because most people are all butt fuck poor and can't buy the very products they make. Perpetual developing countries, some have touted their pockets of rich cities, but in the very same cities exist vast slum, and nationwide is very poor. The negotiation ability is often very low for workers without unions, and/or government min wage or some wage regulation structure. That's negotiation not just to be hired, but for safety and for working long hours for a particular duration.
