  1. Patents is what set back aviation in the US despite fixed wing flight being invented by two Americans... Wright brothers' Wright Company and Curtiss Company patent war effectively stopped all advancements until patents expired by 1917. Western Europe was well advanced, as Wright Company's patent law suites were mostly failures. Patents are not necessary anti-competitive mechanisms. And medical patents are crimes against humanity.
