I think its funny too that this concern for Venezuela when Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, etc. are suffering even more poverty and have been for over 30 years. Guatemala's giant dump city where entire generations have been growing up in since the 80's. As for South America let's not forget Brazil is undergoing a very harsh recession/depression, Argentina has 45% inflation rate as poverty raises from 26% to 32%. But let's worry about Venezuela? Actually, we should probably be concerned, globally countries are slowing down economically, and some have been in a big recessions for a while after the commodities collapse around 2011 (when lots of money temporarily found home in commodity contracts around 2008 and got out about 2011-12).

Honduras which experienced a military coupe in 2009, and currently in economic turmoil as well as causing political turmoil accounting for the 3,000 caravans going into Mexico for asylum. And then there's Brazil with its very bad recession it's been in for several years now since the commodity bubble bust. Do we constantly intervene in these places? In fact, Central American countries we have given various aid. But we don't act like invading or causing a coupe.... kind of did in an indirect manner for Honduras as the generals in the military that instigated that coupe were trained in the US.... kind of fishy. We should simply end sanctions. And provide support of aid that can be screened by Venezuela to ensure its not weapon smuggling. And strongly support new open elections with various credible observers over the election.

You do realize Venezuelans post youtube videos... average folks... I don't get them saying they want the US to invade. Besides the few fraction of people who do, as an American, you and they can go fuck yourselves. I'm sick of my country intervening when we're bankrupting and hollowing out our own country economically with our bloated military spending. We lack universal healthcare, housing construction is way too low to provide affordability both renting and buying, our worker and educational system doesn't work leaving an entire generation in tens of thousands of dollars in debt that cannot be cleared via bankruptcy protection, our own inflation as wage purchasing power is that of 1974. So go fuck off. Fight your own revolution. If you have actual support for it, it shouldn't be too hard to muster your own fucking armies. Have fun, and despite you have no gumption for putting my fellow soldiers in harms way, I wish you good luck, and try not to get yourself killed. And hope its over quickly as civilians always suffer more so than just what suffering comes from hyper inflation. Right now you're seeing difficulty buying stuff without using US dollars or some other currency. Civil war: you're looking out thousands dead every city along the streets, in homes and other buildings. The stench of the rotting is only comparable to the aftermath of a terrible hurricane in a shantytown. And what gets put in its place could be worse than what you're crying about now. Now you've been warned: go have your war. Leave us out of it.
