This came up at work by someone who isn't even political... he started off saying so now we're doing out right coups wtf?

And they allow oligarchs still and depend on their businesses... if it was such a dictatorships all those businesses would have been redistributed to party members, and the former oligarchs would all be put in jail, killed, and or completely exiled. They're not. Only a few who have attempted violent coups have been jailed... which would be the same in the US or any other country. The problem with that country is systemic to our entire race to the bottom system, collapse in commodity prices that all these perpetually developing countries are in recession. And it doesn't help that sanctions exist, and many multinational companies long ago pulled out and are essentially boycotting the country completely... but multinationals tend to do this anytime another country is more impoverished they can leave to screw over regardless of politics... they could have complete bribed agreements with the government, if the opportunity compared to another country to exploit, they're out.
