  1. Largely due to storage, we don't have sufficient battery technology when the sun isn't shining. And it doesn't capture much. We could use LFTR fission and/or fusion Tokamak reactors like Wendelstein 7x and ITER if we made into an Apollo like projects. We would have over 100,000 years of cheap clean energy, and it would supply immense amount of power, so much so, many chemicals in cleaning and plastics as well as liquid fuels could be produced cheaply using the overproduced power via electrolysis. But it would put all fossil fuel companies out of business very quickly... so we know why we haven't done such a project.
