Yes. Because when women started entering the work force on average, they were seeking to make a bit of money and tend to work lower skilled jobs. That has been changing as far as they are now seeking higher skilled jobs. But what remains, women still tend to low ball themselves on wages and salaries at all pay levels. And that low balling has effected men's salaries and wages recently, the wage gap is coming down, not because women are making more, but because men are taking jobs at lower pay, meeting women at lower pay. A fun experiment I did off the cuff at a former employer, I remarked how ridiculous our CEO made, over tens of millions which was over $100K an hour 2,080 work year. I said we should get $100 an hour. The women in the office immediately began bidding that down to just over $5.00 they were already making. It was all fantasy. But even their fantasy extra an hour is ridiculously low. Psychology of women still exists on lower wages.
