Margin debt is at record high surpassing record of of 2008 peak just before the last recession and crash. GME just happened to be so over shorted 120% of its shares outstanding, that it didn't take much pressure to push it to a domino cascading effect of these morons forced to sell their position and buy back whatever stocks. The brokers selling stock that don't exist, the bookies are the ones laughing to the bank. You see, in gambling, the gamblers are all morons. The bookie is the only jack ass that's actually fucking all of them and walking away to the bank.
