Well, I'm skeptical about how he's stating our mass doesn't emerge from the Higg's field.Fundamental mass of all particles including quarks not just leptons and any other object get its base mass from the Higg's field, at least I think LOL!. I'll look it up LOL! I'm thinking this is an over emphasis that not all mass of larger atomic structure comes from the Higgs. I'm thinking this is relativistic mass he's speaking about. Base mass still Higg's related. Don't have faith. Be skeptical.

I did look to see other work and re-watch this. I do like how he describes the gluon field I feel I understand it much better. As for his misleading title, in the video he does say fundamental mass comes from the Higgs for the quarks and leptons. But his title of the film and how he goes about it seems purposely deceptive-- either to garner viewers or to emphasize that 99% of the mass is not from the Higg's that only 1% comes from it. But I think it will confuse most. It did me.

Okay, he was being deceptive. Quarks and leptons being subatomic particles get their mass from Higgs. The remainder mass from Baryons come from the kinetic energy of the quark trios inside the baryon (proton or neutron) and energy of the mass-less gluons. But the quarks making up the baryon still owe any mass whatsoever to the Higgs field. The title should be changed to "NOT ALL YOUR MASS COMES FROM THE HIGGS FIELD"

Yeah, that's what I picked up on. I think he's exaggerating that Higg's doesn't account for all the mass. But it accounts for any mass at all. He suddenly switches to relativistic mass, but energy by itself has no mass like a photon. And relativistic mass has to do with relative speeds and can take on energy and appear more massive. But it doesn't explain where any of the mass comes from in the first place, only that it can vary based on velocity. I think his title is deceptive.
