And art in these bubbles like during the dot com era or even real-estate stupidity can tank even harder than all other speculative stuff. A billionaire ruined during the the 1989 Japanese bust bought a bunch of art... and he was wrecked not just from the art he bought... but some of way over priced real-estate in Manhattan and of course his Japanese Stocks that still 2022 have not broken even from the highs reached in 1989. He, unfortunately, was so upset he ruined a piece of his now very lower priced piece of art he bought. So art can tank. Just as much as any other speculative thing. And even worse than any other assets... because it's completely based on whether big money wants to buy or not. And much of art is a way of money laundering and tax dodging... loop holes that look like many nations are fixing to undo. Additionally, you see huge spikes in art prices during booms. And the busts are deviating. Even to the billionaires who bought the art at the top. As with anything you're going to speculate on... be careful.
