The republicans have drained the intelligence from the poor people of Alabama, no wonder the UN investigated and is exposing the extreme poverty there with running raw sewage in the streets and hookworm. Our fellow Alabamians deserve better. Poor people don't even understand our constitution particularly there is no religious test for office in our country. You may just put your right hand to say the oath of office, or use a religious symbol or text. Your choice. Your oath is just you out loud to the public that you will serve the country with no purpose of evasion, and to the best of your ability to uphold the constitution and laws. Unfortunately, at least this particular Alabamian doesn't understand what's in our constitution. If he's on the staff of a former judge running for governor, it's probably safe to say there are many others in the state and probably others who have been brainwashed into not understanding the value of our constitutional amendments.
