Every coma case I have so far heard about in random places, one guy is a piano player who was in a Mozart Documentary, a friend came and played Mozart... he heard music, but it was India Bhavageethe like singing.
They all keep stimulating the person, and eventually do something to push the stimulus for a response.
For whatever it's worth, if you know anyone in a coma, stimulate the person, and do things like play music, put a whistle in their mouth, touch them with velvet, flowers, cotton balls, etc. Do all things to get a response, and try to discern what movement seems capable of them to encourage them to keep doing as a way to maybe reach them and wake them.
Almost seems like assistance is needed to jump start them out of the comatose state.
If faced with that situation I would do those things. Nothing to lose.
