If you're interested in the study of the historicity of Jesus Christ, Richard Carrier pHD in has done lots of research concerning this, and uses bayesian statistics to come up with the probability whether Jesus was a person or a euhemerization of revealed religion that shares lore and worship practices such as a dying and rising god or holy person with many others such as Zalmoxis, Isis and Osiris, Dionysus, and some others. Many have enough actual written information both contemporary and by the very worshipers to understand the lore and how it changed over the periods; they share something similar in that many were revealed religions just as Christianity might be as sources track the most recent worship acts based on the Epistles of Paul as Jesus reveals himself, but does not have a backstory until a hundred years after that when the gospels are later written to give Jesus a living story: euhemerization.
