Horse and buggy with steam engine trains and boats... going to automobiles, blimps, fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, rockets... from telegraphs to telephones to phonograph to record player, to radio to television, mostly not indoor plumbing to indoor plumbing and electricity and all the appliance that offers. And that's just the technological changes. Geographical and political changes and music and painting and theatrical arts from plays and musicals to movies. She was around when some greats were in their prime: Mark Twain, about 2 years old when Charles Dickens died, Franz Liszt died when she was 18, she was 11 years older than Einstein.
