I still would go with an H2 fuel cell car. The idea is using nuclear energy to over power the grid, and electrolysis of water to O2 and H2 is fairly efficient at 149 MJ/kg electricity to make 1 kg of hydrogen which contains 141.8 MJ/kg of energy. And based on safety features developed so far, many sensor valves are established for emergency shut off valves if a leak is detected, in addition to emergency jettison method to jet the H2. Compared to lithium batteries that once punctured produce a thermal runaway effect, the vehicle is burning for several hours, putting out lithium vehicles is tough since water ignites lithium.
Neither vehicle types based on present technology would I store in a garage.
I personally think H2 is better so far, and H2 tanks can be made safer, they're already safer than lithium batteries.
For H2 vehicles, I would want to know more about the venting, and then ignition as described by Thunderf00t. Run a test that delays the flame source.
I read and watched the tests he shows with comparing a gasoline and H2 vehicle on fire. Part of the problem they had with the bullet, is that it didn't ignite the H2. They literally had to use an incendiary bullet to get it to burn the H2, and it produced the flame jet of burning H2. I would like to see them just puncture the tank, let it sit for a second the use a spark and flame and other ignition sources to find out what happens.
