And the more research that would help resolve your concern and even the most important economic and environmental concern is developing alternate energy via fusion or other types of fission processes.  Something more practical than curren wind and solar systems as they in the end compared to the stuff they're made from and how many need to be placed use as much carbon as they will reduce in 50 to 100 years; in other words they're practicality is impractical based on the fact they're too slow in becoming carbon neutral.
